Last December, we were fortunate to be hosted by Mami and Shohei in their family home off the outskirts of Osaka.
Set amidst a quiet, rural town called Nose, this cosy little guesthouse is where Mami and Shohei spend their days doing what they love most - craftwork and carpentry. Mami's endearing 'bunny-like' illustrations are inspired by personal travel photos of themselves. "We rarely have the opportunity to travel", she says, "so when we do I like to keep these memories in my drawings".
As we learnt about their livelihood and shared stories, one thing that stuck with us most was how they found contentment in the simplest of things.
